Bed on Bricks

It has been a fantastic few years for Bed on Bricks! Celebrating 16 years of gracing the country’s top venues and festivals, these critically acclaimed Cape Town local rock/ funk icons have not only added opening for international acts Bastille and The Crash Test Dummies to their musical arsenal, but have played two phenomenal sets at the STRAB (Mozambique) and Oppikoppi festivals this year, respectively.
Bricks have three studio albums as well as a live acoustic album: “Humanarium’’ (2003), ‘’If You See Kay’’ (2005), ‘’Royal Honey’’ (2008) & ‘’Takeaways’’ (2006)
Singer Mike Hardy’s lyrics are smart, positive, informed and questioning. Whether they are rapped or sung, they remain inspired by life in urban Cape Town. Schalk van der Merwe’s bass, Tim Rankin’s drums and Dave van der Linden’s guitar are played with passion and energy.
Bed on Bricks are into the sweetness of life at the Southern tip of Africa and playing their instruments for the love of it. And man do they love it!
