Legendary “The Bottle” performances, (Sylvestre Kabassidi – guitar/composition/vocals; Alan Tchimanga – guitar/vocals and Simon Annett – percussion) have become a very popular institution throughout the western Cape.
Sylvestre Kabassidi is a Cape Town based singer/songwriter, originally from Congo Brazzaville. In his songs contemporary World Music is combined with big forest sounds from the Bacongo. Sylvestre describes himself as a: “rebel with a sensitive soul, bringing about a revolution in African music”.
This time round the Berlin based pianist, accordionist and composer, Sigrun Paschke, joins forces with them at the enchanting, cosy Cafe Roux in Cape Town.
Sigrun has extensive experience as a soloist, accompanist and member of several bands and ensembles, including the following genres: Classical Music, World Music, Klezmer, Jazz, African Music, Balkan Music, and Cabaret.
They will delight the audience with their compositions, creating a winners recipe and dish up a musical melting pot, spiced with African, eclectic and European flavours!
