A live electro act from Tulbagh, founded by Zap Dragons drummer Ash Read and united in partnership with his synth-wielding wife, Kerstie.
Combining elements of electronic dance music with an authentically live rhythmic core, the COLORFIELDS sound draws inspiration from a wide variety of musical genres – ranging from the swirling psychedelic rock of classic bands like Pink Floyd to the live dance giants, Faithless, from the edgy sonic trip-hop of Massive Attack to dub and tribal World music
beats – while the thought provoking content and social commentary draws much inspiration from Eco-anarchist philosophy.
COLORFIELDS released their second album, DECADE, in March 2018.
10 October 2018 marks their 10 year wedding anniversary, 20 year musical partnership, and Ash’s 12th year in recovery from addiction. Performing as the Colorfields duo, with some surprise guest artists, Ash & Kerstie are celebrating with an anniversary bash at Cafe Roux on 12 October 2018.
