Seb Goldswain
=============
Seb Goldswain is a South African guitarist, composer and performing artist best known for his virtuoso guitar playing and high-energy stage presence. Armed with either an acoustic guitar or an electric guitar and a Marshall stack, Seb has the rare ability of wowing and entertaining crowds with nothing but his original compositions, energetic performances and dazzling guitar playing. With influences like Tommy Emmanuel, Frank Zappa, and Steve Morse (all world-class guitarists/composers) Seb expresses the rare talent of being able to entertain a pop crowd, as well as Jazz, Rock, Blues and Heavy Metal crowds, all with his original music and masterful guitar playing.

With the arrival of his debut album “Pictures of a Thousand Words”, Seb has now taken a bold step towards establishing himself as one of the new breed of original voices in South African music. Encompassing influences from across a wide range of genres and cultures, the album is stylistically diverse, while carrying a sound throughout that is both uniquely Seb’s own, and carrying a distinct Kwa-Zulu-Natal flavour.

At the age of twenty four, Seb has already performed internationally in countries like Austria, Greece, the UK and the United States, and has performed his original music at many of South Africa’s top music festivals including Splashy Fen, White Mountain Festival, The Grahamstown National Arts Festival, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival, The UNISA International Jazz Festival, The UKZN Youth Jazz Festival and the Durban International Blues Festival. Seb has toured and performed both nationally and internationally with various groups, as well as having worked with, and performed alongside International star George Ezra, as well as many of South Africa’s most highly recognised artists including Ard Matthews, Matthew Mole, Beatenberg, Albert Frost, Dan Patlansky, Lloyd Cele, Chris Chameleon, Natalie Rungan, Kahn Morbee from The Parlotones, Kwazulu-Natal Philharmonic, Tananas, The UKZN Jazz Legacy ensemble, Madala Kunene, Derek Gripper, Nibs Van De Spuy, Guy Buttery and Andrew Young amongst others.

Seb is proficient in bluegrass, blues, funk, heavy rock, country and Jazz styles, and encompasses these styles, as well as a wide range of artistic influences, into his original electric material. Seb is also usually accompanied by some of SA’s best session musicians in his band, like Sidney Rash (French Montana/The Arrows), Prince Bulo (Zahara, Frank Mccomb), Ildo Nandja and Sphelelo Mazibuko in his live band.

Jono Tait
========

Jono Tait was born in Cape Town and took to playing music as soon as he started school. Starting out in the choir and taking piano lessons, he branched out into trombone in high school. At the age of 15, he decided to pick up guitar and has not looked back since.

Jono first and foremost established himself as an acoustic player and songwriter before picking up an electric and giving that a real chance at the age of 19. His first bands were acoustic and harmony driven, notably The Hedges and For Folk Sake.

In 2013, Hatchetman came together, an acoustic, folk rock trio built around an incredibe three part harmony blend. The band came second in the Barleycorn songwriting competition in 2014. An
incredible opportunity was afforded the band of appearing at the CT Folk and Acoustic Fest held at the Baxter in 2014 and are booked to play the same fest at Kirstenbosch in 2015. Since then, the band has gone from strength to strength, winning a Silver Ovation Award at the Grahamstown National Arts Fest, playing two sets at Up The Creek 2016 and being personally invited by the owner of Strab 2016 to appear at the fest.

Later in that same year(2013), Jono was gifted the incredible opportunity of filling the late, great Allan Faull’s shoes as lead guitarist in seminal and pioneering Cape Town Alternative Rock Band, Falling Mirror. While the project may not have panned out quite as anticipated, he did gain the experience of playing to a crowd of 5000+ alongside Freshlyground at the De Waal Park Concerts in the Park.

Jono dedicated a year and a half to hard rocking Pretoria local, Aidan Martin in his band when Aidan moved to Cape Town to pursue his music career.

On a totally different note, Jono was the musical director, musician and actor in a highly acclaimed musical comedy, Fergus of Galloway, written by Alexander McCall Smith, author of the Nr 1 Ladies Detective Agency. The play was selected to be in the Cape Town Fringe Festival in 2014 and was rated one of the picks of the fest.

Later that year, Jono was personally asked by Concerts in the Park owner, Charles Lindsay-Bowman to appear with MARK HAZE in December 2014.

Jono’s musical tendencies are strongly aligned with the music that was often blaring in his family home while growing up. His father, Richard, was a musician and can take all the credit for introducing Jono to many of the classics including The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Beatles, Leonard Cohen and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Subsequent forays into finding his own style has lead Jono to bands such as Led Zeppelin, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, Them Crooked Vultures, Cream – Band and Eric Clapton amongst many others.
