BOOK NOW

Coming from being one of the 8 females in the top 16 of Idols season 9 , I can say that I have grown since then and so has my music. After being eliminated from the Idols Season 9 show, I somehow got more motivation and inspiration to write more of my own songs. So my music is all about life, my experiences, my lessons and I do believe in always leaving a hopeful tone in my songs. So I think the audience can expect to be amazed as they will leave the place full of hope, smiles and laughter.

Right now, I am currently busy with all the logistics for my second single and along with that a music video will too be released. So that is the next step for me and I am really excited about that and also to perform more LIVE and to share my music with more people. That is ultimately what I am most looking forward to in the future. My music journey hasn’t always been all sunshine and roses, and to me it’s not about fame and people shouting my name, that eventually is a blessing when it comes, but to me it’s all about the people you meet along the way, those you learn from and those you get to impact be it musically/socially and even spiritually. And I love every single bit of this journey and who I am becoming.

Besides writing songs and recording in studio, I too lead worship at a local church here in Paarl. I have a thing for hearts, and my favorite emoji on watssapp would be the BLUE HEART emoji, simply cause those are 2 of my favorite things. Besides singing and writing, I love reading, nature and sometimes just sitting at the beach does wonders to my soul.

My best gig experience was when I got the whole crowd singing along and it was just me with a guitar and that reminded me of how people enjoy it when you are uniquely yourself and how passion can drive a crowd.

My worst gig experience, I wouldn’t say worst I think it’s just funny.. But I sang at an event where there was a moment for all the lights to go off, at that time I was just recovering from bad sinus. The gig happened to be outside the evening and the wind was blowing like crazy. When the time came for me to go on stage, I had a runny nose..I managed to sing and make it sound like I’m not thinking about my nose running.. and luckily the lights were off, otherwise I think people would’ve just been starring at my runny nose hahaa

Bottomless Coffee Band is a multi-instrumental, alternative duo consisting of married couple Lourens and Esté Rabé from Cape Town, South Africa.
The group was formed as two students at Stellenbosch University. After completion of their studies, they both went into full time corporate careers; Lourens an Investment Analyst in the Asset Management industry whilst Esté headed up a corporate theatre company.
After releasing their debut album Room With A View at the end of 2014, BCB became crowd favourites for melodic storytelling and electrifying performances, inspiring the nostalgia of the folk-rock legends of yesteryear. With foot stomping rhythms, hard hitting lyrics and hints of the dramatic, they are impressive to watch. They maintain a “feel good” atmosphere throughout their music and performance, as is their outlook on life.
The successful release lead to the couple both leaving their corporate careers to pursue a full-time career in music. With Lourens’ background in Rock ’n Roll and Esté’s training in drama and classical singing, this duo have formed something really unique in modern day music. After several successful tours in their home country, the band embarked on their first international tour in 2016 spanning over several countries in Europe and the UK.
The highly anticipated second album, Anthelia, is set to enthral listeners and take them on yet a new musical journey. The sound is a combination of folk and rock with hints of classical tones. Their latest songs tell the stories of living life to the full; love, disappointments, inequality, passion, tears, joy, time and memories are all themes throughout the album.
Lourens and Esté wish to inspire through their music and performances as they believe that music is a tool to unite and uplift.

Richard Stirton Naked

BOOK NOW

Richard Stirton is a Singer/Songwriter from Cape Town, South Africa. Richard burst onto the South African music scene after winning season 1 of The Voice South Africa at the tender age of 22. He signed a lucrative recording contract with Universal Music and released his debut single, “What Tears Me The Most” and album, “Middle Ground”, which both shot to number 1 on the South African iTunes Charts. He was subsequently nominated for a SAMA in 2017, for best Rock Album.
After 2 years of sold out shows across the country, sharing lineups with the likes of The Parlotones, Karen Zoid, Francois Van Coke, The Pixies, Jack Parow, Majozi, Dan Patlansky, Claire Johnston and Lira, Richard retreated from the spotlight to hone his songwriting skills.
An individual driven by the human connection Richard set about finding his sound. In the second half of 2018, after parting ways with Universal music, Richard began independently crafting a follow up EP to his debut album. He hadnʼt been able to contribute much in the songwriting process during the creation of his first album, as is the nature with most works released soon after a talent show is completed. This new work, that he has spent countless hours refining, is entirely his, because at the end of the day he wants to be true and honest to both himself and his fans. He wants to connect with them. He wants whoever listens to his music to know that the song is a direct message from him to them.
His new EP, entitled “Naked”, epitomises that ethos. One of honesty. One of truth. A reminder to everyone th%t they are not alone in their journey through life into becoming the best version of themselves. He %ims to be the peoplesʼ artist. A friend. And to build a career of longevity based on  connection with his listeners. To grow with them, to be a part of each of their journeys.
With a live show catered for every environment, Richard and his band deliver performances with the sole goal of making a connection with the audience. With sprinklings of introspection, thought provocation, plenty of healthy banter and laughs creating a feel good show to leave the audience buzzing.

Corporate veteran and writer Reini has lived in South Africa since childhood. In his other life he is a lawyer. The ingredients of his highly personal renditions range between European roots and a deep love of Africa.

Socio-political commentary, environmental issues and a quest for fairness define his minimalistic lyrics –

We are all rich and poor, black and white.

Prisoner set us free – you are who we might be.

All the pictures on your wall will end up hanging in my head.

They say we crawled out of the ocean neither fish nor fowl.

He keeps his options open like a can of gasoline.

They don’t belong to anyone they are perfect on their own.

You were my dream that didn’t come true.

Plastic islands in a sea of technology.

Flew to Corsica on Google maps the other day.

My malaise derailed you where could you have run to.

The view from paradise across the bay changes magnificently every day.

You are the constant resident in my soul.

His album, ‘Leave your light on’, produced by Jonny Blundell, enjoys regular radio airtime. The new album, ‘Memories of Rain’ again produced by Jonny Blundell under the Rootspring label, was launched late last year. Since ‘Memories’ a number of new songs have emerged, some of which will be featured at the February False Bay Folk session.

He is currently working on a novel and an anthology of poetry.

When he Swings the chandeliers get Dizzy and he’ll keep it swinging right up until the final Crash Cymbal is beaten to a Blues Pulp

Rob Stemmett on Bass is one of Cape Town’s top players and when it comes to the Blues there are not many that can drive & Lock down a groove like this man

The Brothers Streep are an acoustic comedy act from Cape Town. Currently celebrating over 10 years on the scene, they have made their mark locally through playing various comedy clubs, music festivals and the corporates that Prime Circle and Freshlyground couldn’t make. They’ve also been on The Graham Norton Show, SA Idols and Hectic Nine-9, though the latter isn’t as impressive because everyone had been on  Hectic Nine-9. Come watch them play – it’ll be fun.

Nik Rabinowitz is working on a new show! It’s a hilarious, rollicking adventure through… something. Probably something personal. Maybe politics? There’s definitely going to be a joke about Romania in there. He’s still working out the details. At least he has a title. Kind of. It might change. What he does have is the certainty that whatever the new show ends up being about, it’s going to be a side-splitter. Or possibly a dark exploration of his childhood traumas. At this point, anything is possible.
