About Alanna Joy:
“Alanna Joy wears her heart on her sleeve with each and every number, taking you across an ocean of love, life, dreams and heartbreak” (Kevin Abbott)
Alanna Joy is an Indie Folk singer/songwriter from Cape Town. With hints of rock and a love of lyrics, Alanna has been performing solo and in bands around Cape Town for the last 3 years. While she has played stages such as The V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre, Mercury Live and Café Roux, she is also the founder and host of the ‘Rust Jam Sessions’, a unique event with the structure of an open mic and the improv and collaborative elements of a ‘jam’ where she met her band mates ‘The Joy Boyz’.
Formed in February of this year, the band has already played at Splashy Fen Festival, The V&A Waterfront and Hillcrest Quarry alongside artists such as Craig Lucas and Hezron Chetty.
