Mandela Day show at Café Roux (Noordhoek) with Bongeziwe Mabandla, Crosscurrent and The Steezies – In collaboration with Up The Creek Music Festival.
Join us as we help raise R10,000 – to support Amoyo in their After-School programme, offering kids dance, drama, music and performance classes.
Want to join for dinner? Arrive from 18:00, show starts at 20:00.
Bongeziwe Mabandla has performed on the stages at both Café Roux and Up The Creek, and it’s so special to have him join us for this show, as he is usually based up in Johannesburg. An eclectic blend of African tradition and urban folk, this man has a voice like no other, and is able to entwine Xhosa lyrics with traditional music and folk stylings, creating something truly unique that speaks to all audiences.
Crosscurrent are joining the show as a duo, and will bring with them their fresh original music, afro-pop-rock style. No strangers to Café Roux, if you’ve seen one of their shows before you know you’re in for a feel good evening, they aim to make you feel only the good things!
The Steezies are the third act for the night, and with a direct connection to Hout Bay and the Imizamo Yethu community, this show and it’s cause is close to their hearts. Come watch as their full force energy train of Afro/Funk/Indie vibe pulls into the Café Roux station.
All proceeds from ticket sales go to Amoyo Performing Arts Foundation based in Hout Bay. Each class costs R250 and we hope to support Amoyo with 50+ classes from the funds raised through this show.
