cafe Roux Cape Town
In a world where originality is sanctified, it is plain to see why Cape Town-based alternative rock band Lights Out is quickly being drawn into the spotlight.
Known for their electrifying live performances, this four-piece is spearheaded by female British songwriter Caminey Kuropatwa on vocals and piano, backed by former Binary and Amersham drummer Mark Macdonald, the supremely talented Josh Rosen on guitar, and multi-instrumentalist session musician and former Eminent Child bassist Mike McAuley.
This act knows how to read a crowd. They provide raw and honest yet energised performances of original music that have their roots in classic rock such as Led Zeppelin, Royal Blood, and Skunk Anansie, layered with nuances and finesse inspired by the likes of Imogen Heap, Tori Amos, Alabama Shakes, and Nina Simone.
With two sell-out cafe Roux shows under their belt and their latest release ‘Shut it Down’ garnering much positive attention, don’t miss their October show where they will perform a mix of old and new songs alike, all delivered from the heart and soul, as always.
