Lucy Kruger

January 13, 2017 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
cafe Roux, Cape Town

Lucy Kruger is a musician and a songwriter. She graduated with her Honours in Drama from Rhodes University in 2012 and moved to Cape Town the following year to record her debut album.

Since the release of ‘Cut those Strings’ in 2013 she has toured the country relentlessly, collaborating with many different artists and playing most of the countries major festivals. She has just returned from her second European tour with Dream Noise Duo, Medicine Boy, made up of herself and her musical partner, Andre Leo.

Her solo project focuses more on the bare bones of the songs and draws heavily on her folk roots.

Her performance is honest and intimate, revealing a child-like curiosity towards the darker elements of sound and subject matter.

In 2015 she released an EP with her band The Lost Boys in which she  first started exploring the psychedelic folk that has come to define her sound.

She and The Lost Boys are currently working on their second full length album which will be released in the beginning of 2017.
