Live music this week….

Thursday night we welcome Sannie Fox to cafe Roux.  Sannie Fox, described as belting out the blues like she was born in a Louisiana swamp, is a guitarist, songwriter and vocalist based in Cape Town. She formed & composed for celtic-rock group Machineri in 2010 & went on to release a critically acclaimed self-titled debut album through record label Just Music in 2011. Hailed as the rock & blues queen of South Africa – her influences are an eclectic mix of artists &genres ranging from Screaming Jay Hawkins to Led Zeppelin, Ella Fitzgerald, Patti Smith, John Lee Hooker, 60’s rock, fado, gospel & Malian blues.“Fox’s voice is soulful, deep and grips the blues by its horns. Her ‘analogue-ish’, old vinyl sound can be compared to the likes of Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald.” (-Tonight Music, Argus)

Friday night, we’ve got Cape Town rock band Mc Cree. They’ve been compared to Prime Circle, Just Jinger & The Parlotones. That paints a good picture. Tickets are selling fast for this one…
